How to reach us

One person reads every message. We reply as fast as we can.

To get a useful answer on the first reply, tell us your shop name, the email address you sign in with, and what you were doing when it went wrong — the job, quote, or customer it happened on. A screenshot helps more than a description.

Common questions

Signing in

Mallet runs at app.trymallet.com. Sign in with your email address and password. If your password is not working, press Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and we will email you a reset link.

Adding your first customer

Open Customers and press + New customer. Enter what you have and save — the rest can be filled in later. Every quote, job, and invoice hangs off that customer record, so it is the first thing to create.

Scheduling a job

Press + New job, pick the customer and the work, then Create job. New jobs wait in the To schedule tray on the Schedule tab. Drag one onto a crew’s lane to put it on the calendar, or press Schedule on the card and then press the slot you want.

Sending a quote

Press + New and choose New quote to open the composer. Build your lines, then press Send quote and choose Send by email or Send by text. Your customer gets a link to read it, approve it, and sign. If a send fails the quote is still saved, so you can copy the link and pass it on yourself.

Taking a payment

Open Money, press + New invoice, and send it with Send invoice. Once it is out you can press Charge a card to collect on a secure payment page, or open Record a payment to log cash or a check. Card payments need a one-time setup first, under Settings → Payments → Get paid.

Getting your team onto the app

Open Settings → Team, enter the person’s email address, choose Tech, Office, or Owner, and press Invite. They get a link, set their own password, and land on their own day. Invites that have not been accepted yet stay listed on that same tab.

If a text will not send

Business texting runs on a carrier registration that has to be approved before your messages are allowed out. Open Settings → Workspace and press Set up texting to start it. Until that reads Texting active, send quotes and invoices by email, or share the link by hand.

The iPhone app

The iPhone app is the same Mallet behind an app icon. It takes the same email and password and shows the same records as app.trymallet.com — there is no second account to set up and nothing to sync between them.

If something looks wrong on the phone, sign in on a computer and see whether it looks wrong there too. Telling us which of the two you saw it on narrows the search a long way.
